Thousands attended Harlem Day, the summer festival held on the 135th St corridor between Saint Nicholas and 5th Ave on August 18, 2013.

The highlight of the festival was certainly the back to school fashion show until Tyrese, Geniune and Tank took the stage and set the crowd on fire.

Congressman Charles Rangel, Assemblyman Keith Wright and Hazel Dukes, president of the NAACP New York Conference made an appearance with mayoral candidate Bill Thompson to show their support but also invite the crowd to vote for the former city comptroller.

Harlem Day is part of a month long celebration started 39 years ago in Harlem. “Living The Dream: Celebrating History” was the theme for this year’s celebration hosted by nonprofit organization Harlem Week which mission is to promote Harlem’s rich history.

The celebration featured a children’s festival, outdoor concerts, film festivals, sporting events, block parties, Seminars, Expos, Career & Job Fairs…
