To commemorate Black History Month this year, the Brooklyn Museum went back to where everything started, Africa, with an evening dedicated to the continent on February 2, 2013.

The Target First Saturdays event included concerts by Cameroonian singer Kaïssa, the multicultural Akoya Afrobeat ensemble, the Sierra Leonan band Bajah and the Dry Eye Crew, films, dance, exhibitions, panel discussions and fashion shows.
