New York City Officials celebrate National Black Business Month with commercial corridor tour in Brooklyn

City Officials including Phil Thompson, Deputy Mayor for Strategic Policy Initiatives; Commissioner Gregg Bishop, Department of Small Business Services; Commissioner Penny Abeywardena, Mayor’s Office for International Affairs; and Trudy Deans, Consul General of Jamaica in New York celebrated National Black Business Month with a commercial corridor tour in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn on August 23, 2018.

The tour included a visit to over 5 black-owned small businesses and highlighted black-women owned businesses. Some of those businesses are Brown Butter, Sincerely Tommy, Life Wellness Center, Peace & Riot, IndigoStyle and Mary’s Hands Jewelry.
