New York Association of Black Journalists honors Randall Pinkston

The New York Association of Black Journalists paid tribute to CBS reporter Randall Pinkston and the late Bob Teague, one of New York City’s first black television reporters, at its Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet held on May 14, 2013 at Time-Life in Mahnattan.

Randall Pinkston who started his career in Jackson, Mississippi in 1971 before joining CBS in 1990, received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

NABJ also recognized the work of many New York City journalists including Nayaba Arinde of The Amsterdam News, Touré of Time.com, and Isabel Wilkerson of Essence Magazine.

The dinner was hosted by 1010 WINS anchor Larry Mullins and NY1 anchor Diana King and musical entertainment was provided by Rhonda Ross.

Ashley Johnson and Jeremy Valle were this year’s lucky recipients of NABJ’s scholarships.
