Macy’s celebrated Black History Month by hosting a panel discussion about photographer/director Gordon Parks’ influence on film and the future of African American cinema in its Brooklyn store on February 16, 2013.

Photographer Lauri Lyon moderated the session, which featured author Nelson George, artist Danny Simmons, and filmmaker Warrington Hudlin.

Parks, a self-taught award-winning American photographer and film director, died in 2006.
