Applause Africa Magazine will host its third Annual African Diaspora Awards on November 30, 2013 at the Gerald Lynch Theater in Manhattan.
Applause Africa’s co-founders Michael Ikotun and Debo Foloruncho launched the award ceremony to celebrate exemplary Africans and people contributing in the advancement of Africans.
Last year’s honorees include:
Lifetime achievement Award – Angelique Kidjo
Actor of the Year – Gbenga Akinnagbe
Company of the Year – The Whitaker Group
Humanitarian of the Year – Liya Kebede
Creative Artist of the Year – Tony Okungbowa
Advocate of the Year – Eddie Bergman
Community Leadership Award – Siré Dione Condé
Friend of Africa – Krista Krieger
Designer of the Year – Farai Simoyi
Scholar of the Year – Dr. Mahmood Mamdani
Entrepreneur of the Year – Jason NJoku
Face of Africa – Flaviana Matata
Musician of the Year – Les Nubians
Person of the Year – Lola Ogunnaike
