The African Union hosts 50-year celebration in New York

The African Union celebrated in New York City the 50th Anniversary of the OAU/AU on June 26, 2013.

The celebration started in the morning with a high level panel discussion at the United Nations followed in the evening by a dinner at the Manhattan Center.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was among the guests who attended the dinner hosted in partnership with the African Group of Ambassadors and the African Ambassadors’ Spouses group.

Several artists including Adjaratou Tapani Demba, Anna Mwalagho, Kaissa, Kadidja Guenil, the Jomion Group and the MBazi Brothers performed during the event.
