Brussels, Belgium – The body of the Congolese world-renowned singer Rochereau Tabu Ley will be repatriated to the Democratic Republic of Congo Saturday, according to the funeral programme issued by his family in Brussels.

The family announced Thursday that a plane will be put at the disposal of Congolese wishing to accompany the body to Kinshasa, where it will be available for viewing at the ”Palais du Peuple” (Parliament).

Born in 1935, the international singer has dominated the Congolese and African musical scene for almost 50 years.

He inspired a new generation of African singers, including Koffi Olomide, who made an album in his honour.

The Congolese singer died in a clinic in Brussels.
