NYC Public Advocate Jumaane Williams hosted his inaugural Iftar Dinner for Muslim New Yorkers on April 15, 2022, in Manhattan.
The event included a panel discussion on trauma and mental health with Sandy Lulu, clinical social worker; Abir Saleh, mental health counselor at the Bay Ridge Community Development Center; Maajeida AbdusSalaam, operations manager at MAT Brooklyn and Hina Naveed, registered nurse and attorney.
The panel was moderated by the Women’s Empowerment Coalition of NYC Executive Director Somi El-Rowmeim.
