NYC Council Member Andy King honors Black leaders at Black History Month celebration

NYC Council Member Andy King and the Bronx Youth Empowerment Program kicked off Black History Month by celebrating New York’s Black leaders and Black voices that have made groundbreaking history in our lifetime. The annual “Celebrating Our History” event held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Evander Childs High School, honored Tamika Mallory, Hazel Dukes, Michael Gardner, Al De Castro and the late Louise Floyd.
