The National Urban League Guild, which recruits supporters for the National Urban League and assists with its fundraising efforts, honored four organizations during its Vanguard Award Luncheon held at the Alhambra Ballroom in Harlem on October 27, 2012.

Donald Woods, president of the NULG and Mark Morial, president and CEO of the NUL presented Vanguard Awards to the Greater New York Chapter Links Inc., the New York Coalition of One Hundred Black Women, the New York Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc., and the Staten Island Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

The organization celebrating 70 years was founded by Mollie Moon, the wife of civil rights activist Henry Moon.
