Muslim New Yorkers in Harlem are celebrating the end of the holy month of Ramadan, today May 13, 2021, with a prayer at the Mosque and a day of celebration with family members.

This year the holy month of Ramadan lasted 30 days. It started on April 13 and ended on May 12, 2021.

The holy month of Ramadan, which is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, is a special time for Muslims who are expected to observe self-restraint through fasting, to be more devoted to their religion and community and to be as generous as they can.
