Congressman Torres and Senator Gillibrand to introduce legislation to prevent fires in New York

After touring the Twin Parks North West building, on January 17, 2022, Congressman Ritchie Torres and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced they would introduce legislation to mandate heat sensors in every federally funded building to prevent another tragedy.

Torres and Gillibrand were joined by Mayor Eric Adams, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, NAACP President Hazel Dukes, Councilmember Oswald Feliz, and Gambian Youth Organization President Salim Drammeh.
