Bronx Community College to offer free coding, music and video production workshops to 7th – 12th grade students this summer

This summer, the Bronx Community College Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) will offer to 7th – 12th grade students hands-on online exposure to state-of-the-art innovations in technology.

The STEP Summer Online Technology and Arts Academy is giving students a unique opportunity to learn computer coding for video gaming, studio music production, and documentary film production using cell phones. The summer online initiative is consistent with efforts that support social distancing and flattening the curve.

STEP’s Online workshops will be instructed by professionals from the computer, film, and music industries.

Eligibility:
• 7th-12th Graders
• NY residents
• Copy of report card if you are in Middle School
• Copy of transcript if you are in high school
• Completed application
• Parental signature

In addition, STEP will sponsor a social justice themed writing project to offer students a creative platform for addressing the critical racial and equality concerns facing the United States.
