African Union Day Foundation commemorates 20th anniversary of African Union’s formation with flag-raising ceremony

The African Union Day Foundation commemorated the 20th anniversary of the formation of the African Union from the Organization of African Unity (OAU) on September 9, 2022, with a flag-raising ceremony at Bowling Green Park in Manhattan.

African diplomats, dignitaries, city Officials, and Mayor Eric Adams attended the event, whose theme is “OUR AFRICA, OUR FUTURE.”
