Womenwerk honors Public Advocate Letitia James and African Services Committee

Womenwerk, a movement founded by two young African women Nekpen Osuan and Demi Ajayi to “change the way women discuss, perceive and overcome challenges” hosted its annual gala on March 7, 2015 at John Jay College.

The organization honored several individuals and organizations including Public Advocate Letitia James and African Services Committee during its hallmark event held every year during Women’s History Month.

The 2015 honorees were:
Public Advocate Letitia James, Leadership in Public Service
Philanthropist Jill Iscol, Lifetime Achievement Award
Dr. Lisa S. Coico, Leadership in Higher Education
African Services Committee, Service Organization of the Year
CEO Quenia Abreu, Entrepreneur of the Year
Jimmie Briggs, Ally of the Year
Chika Onyejiukwa, Student Leader of the Year
Fevidaury Valerio-Arias, Student Leader of the Year
