NY based non-profit organization US-Africa Synergy hosted its second annual African cultural evening, on March 1, 2014 at Hunter College in Manhattan.
The event celebrating the beauty and diversity of the African culture included several contests and a tribute to Nelson Mandela by Sduduzo Ka-Mbili.
Winners of the contest were:
– Poetry: Christian Koumtog
– Painting: Robyn Baxter
– Dance: Aiko Dance Group
– African Queen: Mariam Diallo
– African King: Clement Mensah
Proceeds of the celebration hosted by Tanya Donangmaye and Gerard Koala will go to the African Women Lead program, an empowerment program targeting young African women.
