Lomé,Togo (PANA) – Opposition parties in collaboration with the civil society in Togo have called for a public demonstration on January 5, in the capital, Lome, to press their demand for constitutional reform, including election procedures, before the country’s presidential vote in March 2015.

According to organisers, the demo will be followed by a series of daily meetings similar to those held from  November 21-28 2014 about the same demands.

In a statement, they said that the desired constitution should restrict presidential mandate to two terms, improve voting system, articulate electoral boundaries as well as functions of the Independent National Election Commission, the Constitutional Court and the High Authority for Audiovisual and Communication.
