Lomé, Togo (PANA) – Twelves students, among them the leader of the Movement for the Togolese Student’s Fulfillment (MTSF), Komlanvi Kondo, were arrested Thursday and Friday, following their confrontations with police officers who wanted to prevent them from holding their general meeting in the campus of Lome University.
Nineteen students were injured in a scuffle which erupted between the students and the police officers.
Government’s new criteria for the award of scholarships was to be discussed at the meeting which was later banned by the University’s authorities.
