Sylvia’s restaurant has fed the Harlem community for more than 50 years and on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, things were no different.

Volunteers and staff including Sylvia’s granddaughter Tren’ness Woods-Black, Dj Norman, Angie Hancock danced to the beat of hit-music and distributed more than 500 hot meals to the Harlem community, in honor of the Baptist minister and activist.

“We are having a party for MLK Day,” said Tren’ness Woods-Black. “Don’t forget it is a day of service, so be of service to someone other than yourself.”
