The South African Consulate in New York celebrates 20 years of democracy

The South African Consulate General in New York hosted a reception in celebration of twenty years of South African democracy on May 30, 2014 at Broad Street Ballroom in Lower Manhattan.

20 years ago, South Africa elected its first black president, Nelson Mandela, during the country’s first democratic elections.
