“Slavery by Another Name” revisits unflattering moments of American History

“Slavery by Another Name”, the Sam Pollard film depicting the struggle of African Americans to remain free after slavery and involuntary servitude were outlawed by the Thirteenth Amendment of the United-States Constitution in 1865, was screened at the Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Center in Manhattan on February 16, 2013.

Held in partnership with The Gist of Freedom radio blog and the center, the screening was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Roy Paul and featuring David Byer-Tyre, Chet Whye, Stephanie Wilson, Dr. Walter Greason and Michael Cord.
