Senegal: President Bassirou Diomaye Faye revamps leadership in government agencies

The President of the Republic of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, made a series of appointments during the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Palace of the Republic.

These appointments cover various key sectors of the Senegalese administration, marking a turning point in the country’s governance. Among the most notable appointments is that of Bara Diouf as the General Delegate for the Promotion of Urban Poles in Diamniadio and Lac Rose, replacing Diène Farba Sarr. This appointment reflects the government’s commitment to promoting urban development in these strategic regions of Senegal. Similarly, Pape Alé Niang, a renowned journalist, was appointed Director General of the Senegalese Radio and Television (RTS), succeeding Racine Talla.

Additionally, other significant appointments have been announced, such as Waly Diouf Bodiang as the Director General of the National Autonomous Port of Dakar, and Marie Rose Faye as the head of the Agency for the Development and Support of Small and Medium Enterprises (ADEPME).

These appointments reflect President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye’s desire to energize the Senegalese administration and build a strong team to tackle the challenges of economic and social development in the country. They also come at a time marked by major political and social issues as the new government takes shape.

  • Bacary Sega Bathily, Project Management Specialist, is appointed Director General of the Agency for the Promotion of Investments and Major Works (APIX SA), replacing Mr. Abdoulaye Baldé,
  • Pape Ale Niang, Journalist, is appointed Director General of the Senegalese Radio and Television (RTS), replacing Mr. Racine Talla,
  • Waly Diouf Bodiang, Principal Inspector of Taxes and Domains, is appointed Director General of the National Autonomous Port of Dakar, replacing Mr. Mountaga Sy,
  • Cheikh Mamadou Abiboulaye Dieye, Engineer in Civil Engineering and Public Works, is appointed Director General of the Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD SA), replacing Mr. Abdoulaye Dieye,
  • Fadilou Keita, Financial Management Manager, is appointed Director General of the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, replacing Mr. Cheikh Issa Sall,
  • Maguette Kane, Inspector of Posts and Financial Services, is appointed Director General of the National Post Company, replacing Mr. Mohamadou Diaite,
  • Bassirou Kebe, Project Management Specialist, is appointed Director General of the National Low-Income Housing Company (SN HLM), replacing Mamadou Diagne Sy Mbengue,
  • Mouhamadou Moctar Magassouba, Business Finance Specialist, is appointed Director General of the Cape Verde Real Estate Company (SICAP SA), replacing Mr. Mamadou Kassé,
  • Serigne Mamadou Mboup, Specialist in Management and Tourist and Hotel Strategy, is appointed Director General of the Agency for the Development and Promotion of the Coasts and Tourist Zones of Senegal (SAPCO SA) replacing Mr. Souleymane Ndiaye,
  • Marie Rose Faye, Expert in Human Resources Management and Management, is appointed Director General of the Agency for the Development and Support of Small and Medium Enterprises (ADEPME), replacing Mr. Idrissa Diabira,
  • Yaye Khadidiatou Djamila Diallo, Specialist in Business Law, is appointed Director General of the National Agency for Early Childhood and the House for Toddlers, replacing Ms. Maimouna Cissokho,
  • Tidiane Sidibe, Expert in Project Management and Territorial Development, is appointed Director General of the National Agency for Territorial Planning (ANAT), replacing Mr. Mamadou Djigo,
  • Sékouna Diatta, Lecturer in Ecology, is appointed Director General of the Senegalese Reforestation Agency and the Great Green Wall, replacing Mr. Oumar Abdoulaye Ba,
  • Cheikh Dieng, Expert in Environment, is appointed Director General of the National Sanitation Office of Senegal (ONAS), replacing Mr. Mamadou Mamour Diallo,
  • Magatte Diakhate, Inspector of Taxes and Domains, is appointed Director of Legislation and International Cooperation, replacing Mouhamadou Lamine Sy,
  • Abdou Gning, Inspector of Taxes and Domains, is appointed Director of Domains, replacing Mr. Mamadou Gueye.
