The Union of Sierra Leonean Organizations in New York State hosted the 2nd Annual Miss Sierra Leone New York Tristate Pageant on August 25, 2012 on Staten Island.
Ultimately, Rashida Kamara was crowned Miss Sierra Leone New York 2012, Small Bintu Fofanah as 1st runner up and Yankaday Hulimatu Labor-Koroma as 2nd runner up.
The three winners and the other contestants – Yema Edna Otto-During, Tashima Lorraine Dail, and Fatima Edora Kargbo – made a total of six appearances before the judges composed of Chenai oya Berkeley, Diana Musa, Angie Maina, Ibrahim Lawson Fofanah, and Valiseus Doherty.
The beauty event was hosted by Esther and Ibrahim Turay.
