New York, US (PANA) – Protesters have besieged the UN headquarters in New York, as businesses and New Yorkers brace up for this week’s gathering of world leaders attending the 69th session of the UN General Assembly.

The session, which will run from 23 Sept. to 15 October 2015, will consist of plenary meetings of the 193-member Assembly and regular meetings of the six committees of the Assembly, as well as high-level meetings of world leaders on a range of global issues and challenges, including the Ebola outbreak in West Africa and terrorism.

The protesters, cutting across nationalities, have set up tents and banners opposite the UN complex in New York City to register their grievances and concerns.
