President Musevini promotes Uganda during Africa Travel Association’s Presidential Forum on Tourism

President Yoweri Kaguta Musevin at ATA’s 8th Annual Presidential Forum on Tourism

Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Musevini, was ATA’s Presidential Forum on Tourism keynote speaker on September 26, 2013 at NYU Kimmel Center in Manhattan.

President Musevini who spoke about the role of the travel and tourism sector in a nation’s economic growth strategy, caught the audience’s attention with a keynote address filled with humor.

Momodou Joof, permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism of Gambia spoke about the Roots Festival, an annual event held in May 2014, and commemorating the enforced enslavement and transportation of millions of Africans to the Americas and the Caribbean Islands.

Dr. Yaw Nyarko, Director of NYU Africa House unveiled, during the forum, the first edition of the Africa Tourism Monitor published in partnership with the African Development Bank.

The 8th Annual Presidential Forum on Tourism spotlighting investment in Africa’s Tourism Industry also included the Annual Tanzania Tourist Board Awards presented by Ambassador Khamis S. Kagasheki, Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, United Republic of Tanzania.
