The NYC Commission on Human Rights, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, hosted the First Annual African Community Forum and Resource Fair on May 11, at the Metropolitan College of New York in the Bronx.
At the fair, representatives from the Commission, the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, NYC Comptroller’s Office, and more than 20 community-based organizations and city agencies provided information on government resources and legal protections to African immigrants, many of whom may have experienced discrimination based on their immigration status, national origin, or religion.
