NYU Africa House hosted its Biennial Gala Celebration on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at New York University’s Kimmel Center.
The gala featured a cocktail reception and dinner with African cuisine, special musical entertainment with master Kora player Yacouba Cissokho, and the Africa House Awards Presentation.
During the presentation, NYU Africa House honored His Excellency Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, Former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Benedict Oramah, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the African Export–Import Bank, Professor Deborah Willis, Ph.D., NYU Professor and Chair of the Department of Photography & Imaging, Kehinde Wiley, Artist and In Memoriam J. Max Bond, Jr., Architect and Educator.
