On November 4, 2022, NYS Senator Cordell Cleare hosted and moderated a public forum for asylum seekers at the Historic Masjid Malcolm Shabazz to discuss the rules, rights and resources affecting asylum seekers in the Greater Harlem community.
Consul General of Senegal Elhadji Ndao, Imam Pasha, Lieutenant Bennett from the 28th precinct and the Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs Manual Castro were among the officials in attendance.
