The NYPD is committed to maintaining a welcoming environment for immigrant communities while also maintaining public safety for all.
With this backdrop, the NYPD believes it is important to reiterate our immigration related policies.
1. The NYPD accepts the city’s IDNYC as a valid and recognized form of government-issued identification including for the issuance of summonses and Desk Appearance Tickets.
2. The NYPD does not inquire about the immigration status of crime victims, witnesses, or others who call or approach the police seeking assistance.
3. The NYPD does not conduct civil immigration enforcement. Specifically, this department does not enforce administrative warrants issued by Immigration and Custom Enforcement agents or federal immigration judges solely in connection with civil immigration violations.

Le NYPD s’engage à maintenir un environnement accueillant pour les communautés immigrées tout en maintenant la sécurité publique pour tous.
Dans ce contexte, le NYPD estime qu’il est important de réitérer sa position en matière d’immigration.
1. Le NYPD accepte la carte IDNYC de la ville qui est valide et reconnue comme une forme d’identité délivrée par le gouvernement y compris pour la délivrance de citations et d’amendes.
2. Le NYPD ne cherche pas à connaitre le statut d’immigration de victimes de crime, de témoins, ou d’autres personnes qui appellent ou approchent la police pour de l’aide.
3. Le NYPD n’exécute pas d’opérations liées à l’immigration. Plus précisément, ce ministère n’applique pas de mandats délivrés par les agents de ICE (Immigration and Custom Enforcement) ou par des juges fédéraux d’immigration uniquement en relation avec les infractions en matière d’immigration.
Notre ville est déterminée à demeurer un lieu sûr et accueillant pour tous les immigrés.
