Nigerian New Yorkers want Eric Adams to be New York’s next mayor

Gbenga Omotayo, Chairman of the Nigerian-Americans Public Affairs Committee (NAPAC) and Yinka Dansalami, the Chairman of the Board of the Organization for Advancement of Nigeria (OAN) held an endorsement ceremony for mayoral candidate Eric Adams outside of the Nigeria House on 44th Street and second Avenue in Manhattan.

 

Several groups, including Abundant Life Christian Center, Winners Chapel, Absolute Faith, Celestial Church of Christ, the Igbo Organization, and the Association of Nigerian physicians in America, joined the ceremony to throw their support to Adams.

A candidates forum and poll conducted among the Nigerian diaspora in New York ranked Eric Adams first with 51.5 percent, Ray McGuire second with 27.3 percent and Andrew Yang third with 21.2 percent.

The various Nigerian organizations, according to Chairman Dansalami, represent all together a voting bloc of about 100,000 people.
