Lagos, Nigeria – The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has returned US$ 8,500 cash, belonging to Mrs. Titilayo Onabokun, which she misplaced at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on her way to the United States.

Mr. Yakubu Dati, General Manager, Corporate Communications at FAAN, confirmed this in a press statement Wednesday.

The statement said that the Nigerian traveler was full of joy when she got her money back.

“Mrs Onabokun who lost the lump sum while returning to her US base in Atlanta, Georgia, expressed joy when she was informed by officials of the FAAN Aviation Security that her lost money has been found,’’ the statement said.

The press statement said that Mrs. Onabokun had misplaced her luggage at the Lagos Airport while returning to Atlanta on 10 November, 2013, via Delta Airline.

However, the luggage was found by aviation security officials while conducting routine search, the statement said.

FAAN appealed to members of the public who might have left any luggage at any of its terminals to come forward promptly with evidence of ownership.
