Niamey, Niger (PANA) – The President of Niger, Mahamadou Issoufou, has called for a new international military intervention in Libya, under UN supervision, to neutralize the rampaging militias.

“There is a need to have French, US and British troops in there to repair the damage they caused. It is high time they provided after sales services,” the Nigerien head of state said in an interview published recently in the French newspaper, Le Parisien.

According to President Issoufou, “neighboring countries should be on hand to help, and Niger will play its part.”

“There is also the need to reconcile all Libyan parties, including supporters of the late Mouammar Gaddafi, with a view to forming a national unity government. Libya is the source of evil. If we do nothing, we will encourage disaster,” he added.
