Rabat, Morocco (PANA) – Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs Mbarka Bouaida summoned the Algerian Ambassador to the ministry’s headquarters in Rabat to express his country’s strong disapproval of the deportation by the Algerian authorities of over 70 Syrian nationals to the Moroccan territory 26-28 Jan.

The ministry said Morocco condemns outright this “inhuman act all the more because it involves women and children in an extremely vulnerable situation”.

It said the Moroccan authorities have immediately provided assistance and the necessary health care for the Syrian nationals, who were deported to the border zone with Algeria.

An increasing number of Syrians has recently crossed into Morocco from Algeria without visas, with most seeking the opportunity to travel to Europe, according to the Moroccan media.
