Bamako, Mali – Morocco has donated an ultra-modern hospital to Mali as part of efforts to assist the West African country, which is recovering from almost two years of socio-political crisis.

Though the mobile hospital will be set up in the Malian capital, Bamako, it could be moved to wherever it is needed in the country.

Morocco has also supplied the required staff, including doctors and nurses.

According to the head of the Moroccan medical team, Abdel Wahab Baite, the hospital can handle a wide range of medical needs, including surgery.

Commissioning the hospital, Mali’s Health and Public Hygiene Minister Ousmane Kone hailed the donation as “a natural solidarity act from Morocco which responds to a real need in Mali”.
