Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit to host voter registration and civic engagement training for African youth

In an effort to increase voter registration within the African community, the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit, along with NYC agencies and community organizations are holding a voter registration and civic engagement training for African youth (ages 15 & up) on Monday, October 3rd at 6 p.m. in Council Member Vanessa Gibson’s Office in the Bronx.

The training will prepare youth to go out into the community to register voters and connect them with other civic engagement opportunities with the city.

Volunteers who will be trained to register eligible voters in the Bronx and Harlem will receive additional civic engagement opportunities with the city and certificates from the city recognizing their work.

African youth looking to make a difference within their community are encouraged to attend.
