On May 13, 2022, New York City Mayor Eric Adams joined project developers Urbane and BRP Companies for the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the Flatbush Central Caribbean Marketplace and Caton Flats, a new mixed-use development with 255 affordable homes and 20,000 square feet of community space.

Mayor Eric Adams toured the marketplace and patronized two vendors, Marguerite Medina, owner of Medina’s, and Isra Gordon, owner of Mint Porch.

The grand opening kicked off a weekend-long celebration with chef demos and food samplings, double-barrel rum tastings, cooking classes, children’s storytime, and more!

Additionally, the Marketplace welcomes several new food hall vendors, including: Picky Eaters; Petisco Brazuca; and BunNan by Nadège Fleurimond.
