Port-Louis, Mauritius (PANA) – Mauritius has awarded 20 scholarships, at tertiary level, to African students from Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Namibia in 2013.
An official communiqué published Saturday morning said the aim of the scheme is to support capacity building in Africa and encourage more African students to study in Mauritius.
“Government will extend the scheme in 2014 by awarding 50 scholarships for full-time undergraduate studies in any public tertiary education institution to candidates from the African continent,” it said.
