Brazzaville, Congo (PANA) – China’s Ambassador in Congo Guan Jian has said the volume of trade between his country and Congo reached US$5.870 billion between January and November 2013, compared to US$290 million in 2002.

The Ambassador disclosed the figures to journalists Thursday in relation to the 50th anniversary of the Congo-China relations that will be celebrated on February 22, 2014.

“Congo has already become a major partner in economy and trade for China in Central Africa. Since the diplomatic relations between both countries have started, China has been undertaking the implementation of 68 projects as economic aid, 56 of which are already completed,” Mr Jian said.

Diplomatic relations between China and Congo date back to 1964.
