Mauritanian Diaspora forum kicks off in Nouakchott

Nouakchott, Mauritania (PANA) – Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz presided over the opening ceremony of the Diaspora Forum being held Sunday in Nouakchott.

The meeting, organized by the National Agency for Project Monitoring, ANESP, is attended by 200 Mauritanian officials and experts from the private and public sectors.

The two-day gathering aims to involve Mauritanian experts living abroad in the social and economic development of the country.

It is also meant for the establishment of an expertise platform for project conception and management.

In his opening remarks, the Mauritanian President insisted on the need to evaluate the country’s human resources based abroad in order to tap such for national development.

At the end of the forum, participants are expected to make recommendations for the country’s development.
