HERO, a film inspired by the life of Ulric Cross, a young Trinidadian who served in England’s Royal Air Force during World War II and became a central figure in the liberation struggles of several African nations, opened the 26th New York African Film Festival on May 30, 2019 at Lincoln Center.
The film directed by Frances-Anne Solomon spotlights Cross and other Caribbean professionals who helped liberate Africa from colonialism.
A reception followed the screening and Q&A with director Frances-Anne Solomon.
