Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement Inc. (HCCI) held its 11th Annual “Let Us Break Bread Together” Awards Gala on April 25, 2013 at the Prince George Ballroom in Manhattan.
WWOR-TV anchor Brenda Blackmon and Award winning producer and actress Yvette Hegliger were the mistresses of ceremonies while the MBazi singers of Angola provided the entertainment.
Several political leaders including New York former mayor David Dinkins, councilmember Inez Dickens, councilmember Robert Jackson, assemblyman Keith Wright, mayoral candidates Bill Thompson and John Liu were in attendance.
The 2013 HCCI honorees are:
– Darryl C Towns, Commissioner, New York State Homes and Community Renewal
– Curtis Archer, President, Harlem Community Development Corporation
– Michael L. Beal, Executive Strategy Team, JP Morgan Chase
– Maxine Griffith, Executive Vice President of Government and Community Affairs, Columbia University
– Angela E. Guy, Senior Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion, L’Oréal USA
The dinner proceeds will benefit HCCI’s programs helping Harlem residents rebuild and sustain their community.
