Harlem Fashion Week to kick off on September 7

Harlem Fashion Week will kick off in Harlem with an opening night celebration on September 7, 2016. The main event will feature four runway shows with 15 designers on September 9, at the historic Museum of the City of New York on 5th avenue and Central Park.

Harlem Fashion Week will be an explosion of culture that will bridge the Downtown fashion hub to the Uptown vibe for a rich community experience. The four-day event will be hosted at restaurants, businesses and cultural centers all throughout the Harlem community.

A portion of the proceeds from HFW will go to the Junior Scholars Program at the Schomburg Library for Research in Black Culture and the restoration project of La Maison des Esclaves- The House of Slaves Museum on Goree Island in Senegal.
