Promise made, promise kept. On July 19th, the day after the Black Lives Matter Mural on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd between 125th and 127th Streets was vandalized by a group led by Bevelyn Beatty, Nikoa Evans, executive director of Harlem Park to Park and Erika Ewing, founder of Got to Stop LLC, vowed to themselves and to the community to repair the mural. On July 26, 2020, a week after the act of vandalism, a brand-new mural on the north side of Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd was awaiting community members during a very well-deserved celebration following a week of hard work by organizers, artists and volunteers to revive the mural.
