Harlem celebrates Juneteenth

The Intersectional Voices Collectives in partnership with The BlackSmiths and The Wide Awakes hosted a Juneteenth Jubilee celebration and march that started in Central Park on 110th Street and Lenox and ended at the Saint Nicholas Park on 135th and Saint Nicholas on June 19, 2020 in Harlem.

Juneteenth is a holiday celebrating the emancipation of enslaved Africans in Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865, two years after President Abraham Lincoln outlawed slavery with the Emancipation Proclamation.
