Starting today, June 13, 2016, Street Hail Livery (Green Cab) permits will be available to people who were previously ineligible.The NY State Hail law, which created the Green Cab system, only allowed for the first two years, those who had been licensed for at least one year to purchase the sought-after permits.
The Street Hail Livery permit will cost $3540. A purchaser can only get one for a regular Green Taxi Permit and 5 for a Wheelchair Accessible Permit.
A Green Taxi can:
– Pick up pre-arranged trips and street hails in Northern Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens & Staten Island!
– Pick up pre-arranged trips at LaGuardia and JFK airports!
– Find passengers using smartphones and car services!
