Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce honors Spike Lee at 45th HARLEM WEEK celebration kick off in Harlem

The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce presented iconic filmmaker Spike Lee with an award in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of his film “Do the Right Thing” at the 45th Annual HARLEM WEEK celebration kick off, “A Great Day in Harlem,” on July 28, 2019 at the US Grant National Memorial Park.

“A Great Day in Harlem” featured a number of exciting performances and celebrity appearances, including performances by gospel artist Hezekiah Walker, R&B artist Nicole Bus, and celebrated musician/bandleader Ray Chew.

The program also featured a special guest appearance and performance by gospel artist Kirk Franklin and musical tributes to gospel legend Dr. Bobby Jones and Robert “Kool” Bell of the group Kool and the Gang in honor of their 50th Anniversary.
