Evidence, A Dance Company hosted its 8th Annual Gala on Monday, February 13, 2012, at New York’s Manhattan Center. The gala presented Evidence’s first ever performance of Gatekeepers, a powerful modern dance work blending Native American myth and African traditions, and choreographed by Evidence’s founder and artistic director Ronald K. Brown. Actor Norm Lewis, star of the Gershwins’ “Porgy and Bess” hosted the annual gala, joined by actress Phylicia Rashad of “the Cosby Show”; Tony Award winning actress LaChanze of “The Help”; actress Lisa Nicole Wilkerson of “Porgy and Bess”; and Andrea and Maurice Dubois, WCBS-TV news anchor, among others.
