ECA delegation visits Mauritania

Nouakchott, Mauritania – A delegation of the UN Economic Community for Africa (UNECA), led by its Executive Secretary Carlos Lopes, arrived in Mauritania Saturday, the Mauritanian New Agency, AMI, reported.

On Sunday, the delegation visited the country’s free zone located in Nouadhibou, a mining and port city.

The establishment of a free zone in that city is aimed at maximizing the strategic and economic assets of Nouadhibou.

UNECA was briefed about the economic potentialities in the region and the role of the free zone in facilitating the establishment of companies.

UNECA plans to help African countries to diversify their economies.
