Even though things were in his favor on Primary Night, incumbent District 9 City Council Member Bill Perkins didn’t sustain the race of ranked choice voting.
At the end of the 13 rounds, Harlemite Kristin Richardson Jordan won the majority of votes in Central Harlem with 8,929 (50.3%) and Perkins only 8,829 (49.7%).
Trailing behind Perkins were Athena Moore, the Director of the Northern Manhattan Office of Borough President Gale A. Brewer and Cordell Cleare, Perkins’ former chief of staff.
